Power Book III: Raising Kanan is set in the early 1990s in Queens, New York, and follows Kanan Stark (Mekai Curtis). Raquel "Raq" Thomas (Patina Miller), his mother, is a drug lord who introduced her son to the game.
Her fixation with power, on the other hand, has had an impact on Kanan and her brothers, Marvin (London Brown) and Lou Lou (Malcolm Mays).
Season 2 will premiere on August 14th. Unique (Joey Bada$$), Raq's major rival, is absent from the teaser trailer.

In Season 1 of 'Power Book III: Raising Kanan,' Raq set up Unique.
Raq revealed how calculated and devious she is in the first season of Raising Kanan. She has demonstrated that she will go to any length to achieve her goals. We saw her frame Unique for a crime he didn't commit at the end of the first season.
Since the beginning of the series, Raq and Unique have had a tense relationship. Following his firebombing of Lou Lou's house, Raq staged an assassination attempt on Detective Malcolm Howard (Omar Epps), sparking a manhunt that landed Unique in jail and effectively shut down his drug operation.
The season 2 teaser trailer is devoid of Unique.
Despite the fact that the season 2 teaser trailer contains a lot of information, Unique's absence is particularly devastating. There are clues, though, that Unique may be lurking in the shadows. Raq, Marvin, and Lou Lou arrive at Unique's place of business at one point in the trailer.
Though he isn't seen in the video, we can see his right-hand guy, Worrell (John Clay III), hemmed up on the side of the screen. Curtis has already teased what fans may look forward to in season 2. The actor told Entertainment Weekly, "It's just the continuance of deeds and repercussions." "There's going to be some stuff that you'll see how it molds and moulds Kanan and what it does to his psyche," says the narrator.
Although the gangster is not seen in the teaser trailer, he may emerge in the official trailer when it is released closer to the Aug. 14 release date.
In season 2, Unique might be able to get out of jail.
We feel a lot has happened between the first and second seasons of Raising Kanan because there appears to be a year between them. Furthermore, Detective Malcolm Howard is well aware that Kanan, not Unique, was the one who shot him. As a result, based on the excerpt from the trailer that included Worrell, it's likely that Unique will be released this season.
We anticipate that if Unique is set free in season 2, he would spend the majority of his time seeking revenge on Raq, as she has destroyed his business and grown her own.
Unique misjudged Raq's ruthlessness in season one. Now, we believe he'll be ready to scheme and prepare against her, even if it will take him longer to carry out his plan this season.
