Power Book II: Ghost is nearing the end of its second season, and Michael Rainey Jr.'s character Tariq St. Patrick is in a lot of trouble.
The college student and drug dealer is currently fighting two murder charges and trying to figure out how to get custody of his sister, Yasmine, back. The Tejada family, who works for him, is also going through a lot of trouble.
Monet Tejada (Mary J. Blige) doesn't know it, but she's in bed with her ex-boyfriend and the Tejadas' drug dealer, Mecca (Daniel Sunjata). Her timing couldn't be worse, since her husband Lorenzo, who was played by Berto Colon, just got out of jail.
Even though this season isn't over yet, new information about Season 3 of Ghost has just come out. Season 3 of "Power Book II: Ghost" will start in 2022.
Starz has given Ghost a green light for a third season because it continues to be the most popular show on the network. Jeffrey Hirsch, President and CEO of Starz, said, "The Power universe's success and cultural impact have never been seen before, and it's clear that fans are still hungry for more Power Book II: Ghost."
"We can't wait for the third season of the star-studded show to start filming early next year, just before the release of Power Book IV: Force, the fourth movie in the franchise that is growing quickly."
Courtney Kemp, who made Power Universe, is going to work on a new show for Netflix. For season 3 of Ghost, Brett Mahoney, who made Empire, will take over as showrunner.
Starz has been dropping small hints about what will happen in the next season as filming gets ready to start.
There are now new details about season 3.
Even though filming for season 3 hasn't started yet because of the rise in COVID-19 cases in New York City, it looks like Starz is getting everything ready. Starz has said that actors David Walton, Monique Curnen, and Moriah Brown have all been hired as series regulars for the next season.
Fans will remember Curen from her role as NYPD Detective Blanca Rodriguez in the first season of Ghost. She is going to play the same part again, and this time Blanca is determined to find out what's going on.
Deadline says that Walton will play Lucas Weston, a member of Brayden's (Gianni Paolo) family. Lucas is a "high-level executive at his family's Wall Street firm who likes to have adventures and leans to the left."
Brown will also play "Kiki Travis," a young vice president at a Wall Street company. She went to an Ivy League school, but she is not from a wealthy family. Instead, she is making her own way in the world of the business elite.
From where we're standing, it looks like Brayden will be at the center of a lot of season 3. It looks like Tariq might get an internship, too. How will Season 2 of "Power Book II: Ghost" end?
Ghost's second season is hurtling toward a thunderous end. The season finale is set to air on Feb. 6, 2022, just an hour before Power Book IV: Force, which is about Tommy Egan, starts.
The last episode of the series is called "Love and War," and it looks like both Tariq and Monet will have a hard time. The episode summary says, "Tariq won't give up on the people he loves. Tariq has to save Monet's family by helping her. Monet must move quickly to protect her family from Mecca now that she can see the whole board.
It looks like Monet's long-kept secret that Zeke (Daniel Bellomy) is her biological son is about to be revealed, and when it does, all hell is likely to break loose. Also, it looks like Tariq will find out what happened to his sister Yasmine. We hope this also means that Naturi Naughton, who plays his mother Tasha St. Patrick, will show up.
