The director of Netflix teases the Queen Charlotte spin-off of Bridgerton.

Peter Friedlander, the CEO of Netflix, said that the upcoming Queen Charlotte spin-off from Bridgerton will be "stunning."

The prequel is supposed to tell the epic love story of the young Queen's marriage to King George and how it caused a social upheaval that led to the world of the Ton as we know it in Bridgerton.

Friedlander recently talked to Variety about the upcoming series and what fans can expect from it. "When you meet Queen Charlotte in the Bridgerton universe, you can't help but want to know more about that character and her past," she said. So it seemed natural to learn more about her background." He went on: "I couldn't be happier about Queen Charlotte, the expansion of the Bridgerton universe, and the Shondaland slate.

"It is really beautiful, so I'm glad you're excited about it. It's okay to be excited about it because it will live up to your hopes."

Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Agatha Danbury), and Ruth Gemmell (Lady Violet Bridgerton) will all play their roles from the original series, but they will mostly be seen in voiceovers and flashbacks because a new group of young actors will play younger versions of them in the main story.

India Amarteifio from Line of Duty will play the young Queen Charlotte. Arsema Thomas and Connie Jenkins-Greig, who are new to the show, will play the young Lady Danbury and Lady Violet.

The third season of Bridgerton is currently being made. It will jump ahead to the fourth book in Julia Quinn's series and focus on Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton's growing relationship (Luke Newton).

Friedlander gave a hint that he had just learned some new information about the season, but he wasn't ready to say anything.

He said, "As for Season 3 of Bridgerton, I met with the showrunner, Jess Brownell, yesterday in London, and she told me a lot of interesting things that I'm not going to tell you."
