Ahead are spoilers for Season 3 of Power Book II: Ghost. Tariq told Brayden in the tense final moments of the third season finale of Power Book II: Ghost, "I think we just started a f**cking war," and he was probably correct.
Since Starz renewed Ghost for a fourth season in January, there's no doubt that viewers will see the battle play out.
When the news emerged, production on the Power spinoff had already begun in New York City."The high-octane drama of Power Book II: Ghost continues to resonate with our viewers, and we're thrilled to get Season 4 production underway ahead of our Season 3 debut," Starz executive Kathryn Busby said in a statement at the time, adding that it is "clear our fans are ready to devour more of this explosive series."
According to Starz, the premiere episode of Season 3 delivered 5.8 million multi-platform viewers in its first three days, establishing a record for the network's largest premiere weekend ever.
With the third season of the drama concluding on May 26, here's everything you need to know about Season 4.Cast of The Power Book II: Ghost Season 4
Though the Season 3 cliffhanger could impact the Season 4 main cast list ("I think I took one of those f*ckers out," Brayden said), the following actors are rumoured to return: Michael Rainey Jr. (Tariq St. Patrick), Gianni Paolo (Brayden Weston), Alix Lapri (Effie Morales), Woody McClain (Cane Tejada), Mary J. Blige (Money Stewart Tejada), CliffAlong with the renewal news, Starz announced that Michael Ealy would be joining the cast as Detective Don Carter in a recurring capacity.
The network characterised Ealy's character as "a rising NYPD officer who was on track to become Police Commissioner until his wife was killed in the crossfire between rival drug gangs." The detective will command "an elite NYPD drug task force" in order to combat and prevent drug-related violence.
OG Power actors Naturi Naughton (Tasha St. Patrick) and Joseph Sikora (Tommy Egan) have made multiple surprise appearances in Ghost, so it is conceivable that fans will see them again. However, unless they appear in flashbacks, neither Shane Johnson (Cooper Saxe) nor Berto Colon (Lorenzo Tejada, Sr.), whose characters died prominently in Season 3, will return. The plot of The Power Book II: Ghost Season 4
Due in large part to Effie's betrayal, Tariq's attempt to use Noma's daughter as leverage backfired spectacularly, and he has already drawn battle lines with the two, as well as Cane, Diana, and Dru. While it is unknown whether Brayden actually shot any of them (or Obi), fans may be dealing with another fatality.
"Noma is as brutal and bloodthirsty as ever, and now we have to figure out how in the hell we are going to appease her," Lapri teases to Bustle, adding that she'd also like to examine more of Effie's backstory in Season 4. The actor is also aware that her character is never truly safe, adding, "They put Effie in the most dangerous situations where she could die at any moment."
In the meantime, Tariq will have to deal with Diana and Dru framing him for the attempted assassination of Monet, as well as the Tejada children's attempt to eliminate their mother. The contents of the flash drive Saxe sent to Agent Young (Kevin Rodriguez), who was revealed to be the son of OG Power's Paz Valdes (Elizabeth Rodriguez) and the nephew of Angela Valdes (Lela Loren), remain unknown.Date of The Power Book II: Ghost Potential's Premiere
In April, Rainey Jr. joked to Express.co.uk, "Hopefully, the wait for Season 4 isn't as long as it was for Season 3." Given that production began prior to the March 2023 premiere of Season 2 (less than a year after the conclusion of Season 2), he may be correct. Due to the autumn premieres of the first two seasons, Ghost could return in late 2023.
