In Power Book III: Raising Kanan, the drug queenpin maintains strict control over her family. Nevertheless, there are other characters in the Power Universe who possess a cold-blooded nature.
Miller expresses her desire for Raq to meet Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) and Monet Tejada (Mary J. Blige).Raq's character on 'Power Book III: Raising Kanan' is becoming increasingly ruthless.Upon our initial encounter with Raq in season 1 of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, it became evident that she possessed a formidable presence.
However, throughout the season, we observed her transformation into a more aggressive and determined individual. Her strong ambitions have become so overwhelming that they have inadvertently jeopardised her son's well-being and strained her relationship with her brother Lou Lou (Malcolm Mays). Now in season 2, her determination has only grown stronger.
Starz has graciously shared a teaser trailer and a concise description of season 2. As we embark on season two, Raquel 'Raq' Thomas has gained control over the city's drug trade, however, her son's situation is becoming increasingly concerning. Kanan Stark returns to Queens with a sense of uncertainty about his future with the family business.
Additionally, Detective Howard's lingering secret has left him feeling even more unsure about his past. Kanan diligently seeks the truth as Raq fearlessly expands the business into challenging Mafia territory.Patina Miller kindly suggests that Raq should meet Tommy and Monet.
Given that Raising Kanan is set in the early '90s, it acts as a prequel to Power, Power Book II: Ghost, and Power Book IV: Force. Miller expresses her enthusiasm for her character to have the opportunity to meet Monet Tejada (Mary J. Blige) and Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora).
"It would be great if there was a way for Raq to collaborate with them, even though she is in the prequel," she mentioned during a SAG-AFTRA panel discussion. Of course, I would eagerly seize the opportunity.
I am not familiar with what a Raq, Tommy, and Monet meeting would entail, but I imagine it would be quite fascinating. It is worth noting that Tommy and Ghost's initial encounter with Kanan occurred in 1996, which raises the possibility that Tommy and Raq might have already been acquainted. However, it remains to be seen whether this will actually happen. Is Raq still alive today?
Based on Raq's current trajectory, it seems that some fans have concerns about her future. However, it's possible that they may not fully appreciate her intelligence. Additionally, Symphony (Tobey Sandeman) possesses a deep understanding of the inner workings of the city, which has proven to be advantageous for her.
Fans may remember that in the original Power, when Kanan (Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson) was released from prison, he mentioned his intention to visit his mother.
Perhaps he intended to refer to her grave, or perhaps he simply wanted to visit her in person.Miller has her own perspective on Raq's possible whereabouts in the 21st century. She kindly shared her uncertainty about Raq's fate during the SAG-AFTRA panel discussion.
However, at the start of the story, she could simply be described as elderly and quite agile! Do you understand what I'm saying? One can never be certain!
We will have to wait and see.
