The performance of "Little House on the Prairie: The Musical" by the Black Hills State University Theatre and Music Department will start on Friday, Feb. 23.
The musical, inspired by the beloved book series by Laura Ingalls Wilder, is scheduled to premiere on Friday, Feb. 23 at 7:30 p.m. There will be an extra evening show on Feb. 24 at the same time. The run ends with a Sunday matinee on Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. The event is scheduled to occur in the Woodburn Auditorium, serving as its last performance on that stage before renovations begin.
Casey S. Hibbert, instructor of theatre at BHSU, expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with the Music Department to present this timeless story of family, determination, love, and adventure.
"Everyone is familiar with the story of Laura Ingalls and her adventures out west, but this is a completely new tale. The songs are quite impressive, the show is brimming with sentimentality and humour, all while remaining faithful to Laura's origins.
